October means candy and costumes

I can't believe October is here!

Time flew by this year and it's almost the holidays again! Well I can't jump to the holidays yet. Let's talk about October first.

A big event it's happening at the end of the month and let's get ready to save!

Halloween it's on a Saturday this year! Yes!!! but that also means people will start celebrating it early too. If you and your friends are planning on celebrating it more than one night let's see some costumes options.

1. DIY Costume

It could be the cheapest option if you have most of the items or you need to purchase a few. I have a friend that went as a gnome once and all she bought was the fabric to make her own hat. She had a white blouse and a red skirt and added a flower to a red fabric to make it a hat. Working with what you have can save you money when you can't buy three costumes. To get inspired use Pinterest they have great ideas there.

2. Buy your costume early

Some stores start selling Halloween costumes as early as September so try to go to as many stores as possible looking for great deals. I have found great costumes at Target and Walmart and for awesome deals. You can try buying a costume online at Amazon but I prefer to see the costume first before I buy it. Sometimes they run big and I want to avoid the return hassle.

3. Buy accessories that look like costumes

Most costumes are made for cold weather so fabrics can be a little too hot for some cities. You can go with more weather friendly outfits by buying something that it's not a costume but looks like one. I wanted to dress like Minnie Mouse last year and most costumes weren't appropriate for the weather so I found a Minnie inspired dress. I had the Minnie ears from a trip to Disney so I just bought the dress, some white gloves and wore black shoes. Sorry about the quality of my picture I lost the original :(

4.Last but not least, Candy!

I love this time of the year because all my favorite candy comes in special packages so I can get all my favorites in one bag or two... it depends on which ones I get. Again, Walmart and Target offer great deals but so does stores like Costco Wholesale, Sam's Club or BJ's. Even the dollar store has great deals on candy so happy eating!

Happy October and hope you have a great Halloween!

Xoxo
