Wednesdays are for retail secrets

Hello everyone!

On Wednesdays we wear pink! Not on this blog! No Mean Girls here!

Wednesdays are for retail secrets, so get ready for your first secret!

As a retail associate and a regular shopper, I hear and say this a lot. "Would you like to give your email to receive offers and coupons?" Most people say, "NO! I have too many emails." Well, next time they ask you think twice before you say no.

Most companies send awesome coupons by email and snail mail — yes... they still do that! — so you are missing out on great savings. Here's a couple of benefits about email subscriptions that might help you make a decision.

1. Insider Benefits

If you are looking for new product releases, some companies like Bath and Body Works send you previews of their new products. You also get notices for incoming sales so you can start planning your shopping trip and save more money. Also, sign up for emails from the stores where you shop mostly so you don't miss any details about them.

2. Offers and Coupons

Most companies are sending secret sales notices, mystery offers and coupons that you shouldn't miss. I know there's apps like Retail Me Not that offer great deals but I've heard that some stores don't take third party coupons. Don't risk it, sign up!

Companies also send you a special discount for giving your email for the first time and that is usually a 10% or 15% that can make a difference for big purchases.

3. Keep Receipts safe

Every shopper knows that not having a receipt is a nightmare. That little paper gets lost somewhere in your bag or fades away after a while. To avoid that issue, some companies send you your receipt by email and they save the day!

If you are still not sure about these three benefits and you are still saying I get too many emails, I have one more thing for you. Get another email! as simple as that! I have an email for coupons, subscriptions and whatever other thing that asks for an email. I understand you can't mix work, school and stores all in one, so separating them will work.

Happy saving!

Xoxo,

VP
